DAY ONE

Exit US-23 and proceed eastbound on US-223 to Downtown Blissfield. Make a quick rest & refresh stop at the Historic Train Depot/Welcome Center, located on the corner of South Lane Street & US 223, for visitor information, a look at local history and public restrooms.

Begin your trip here in the southeast corner of Lenawee County, Blissfield, a quaint and lovely stop on the River Raisin! Enjoy a leisurely stroll downtown where you just might find that unique and ‘one-of-a-kind’ treasure while exploring the many antique and specialty stores. Enjoy lunch at one of several group-friendly restaurants in the area. Suggestions include fine dining in the charming and historic Hathaway House or more casual dining in the friendly Main Street Stable & Tavern, located directly behind the Hathaway House.

Plan to step aboard the Adrian & Blissfield Rail Road and enjoy a truly unique dining experience! Enjoy the beauty of nature while “riding the rails” with lunch served in traditional, impeccable dining car style! (Group of 40 or more required).

Arrive Hidden Lake Gardens Michigan State University’s landscape arboretum “for the benefit and education of the public.” This 775-acre property consists of gardens (both indoor and outdoor collections), the beautiful lake area, woodlands, open grass meadows, formal gardens, and tree, shrub and flower specimens from all over the world, including Bonsai, which are a seasonal attraction and the Harper Collection of Dwarf and Rare Conifers. Wheelchair user accommodating trails, year-round educational programs, guided tours by reservation, a Visitor center with informative exhibits, auditorium, meeting rooms, reference library and gift shop are all available on-site. Owned by MSU and Administered by the Division of Campus Parking and Planning. Visitors are welcome 365 days a year with a nominal entry fee charged per person.

Depart Hidden Lake Gardens for a short ride into Tecumseh for Dinner at Evans Street Station. Parking lot located behind the building. Entrance to restaurant off the parking lot. Distance: Approximately 7 miles   Travel Time: 15 minutes

Arrive Evans Street Station to enjoy dinner at the uniquely renovated old Tecumseh firehouse, Evans Street Station. Chef Alan Merhar will prepare your meal as you look on in their exhibition kitchen. Global cuisine is fused with local ingredients to delight the palate. Relax and enjoy your meal next to the fieldstone fireplace and let their superb staff cater to your tastes. Their contemporary concept combines classic dining with an innovative twist! Relax and enjoy a truly lovely dining experience.

Depart Evans Street Station for a relaxing ride back to Lodging Facility for the evening

DAY TWO

Depart Lodging Facility for trip to Cabela’s!

[Note: You might want to consider stopping in downtown Tecumseh to spend some time shopping in the unique and lovely downtown shops or consider a short wine tasting event (participants must be 21+) at the popular Pentamere Winery…located in the heart of downtown!

Cabela’s showrooms are much more than just outdoor adventure stores. They are fun and educational as well. The interesting and informative wildlife displays help adults and kids alike learn more about the outdoors, enriching their experience. Inside you’ll find the outdoors come alive with hundreds of museum-quality trophy mounts, displays recreating natural animal habitats and freshwater aquariums along with an opportunity to enjoy lunch on-site in a unique, deli-style restaurant where hungry travelers can taste and enjoy exquisite wild game delicacies.

Depart Cabela’s – Take M-50 EB to Entrance to US-23 to begin your trip home!
